A thrilling ride through history on six postcards

Hold on tight as six characters take you on an extraordinary ride across history, told through the unexpected lens of our most exalted theme park: Alton Towers!

Following our hugely successful postcard drama Love From Cleethorpes, enjoyed by audiences in 26 countries worldwide, New Perspectives brings six gloriously made postcards in a dramatic new series packed with thrills, chills and a few spills.

We take you on an immersive journey from mystery to mayhem, fusing history with wild imagination mailed straight to your letterbox. You may never look at a rollercoaster the same way again!

Places cost £12.50 per name and address to receive this drama told across six postcards (£26 for Europe/Worldwide delivery).

"New Perspectives has been a pioneer during the theatre shutdown" Lyn Gardner, Stagedoor

On Love From Cleethorpes:

"Like reading Helene Hanff's 84 Charing Cross Road, it feels private, secret, special" The Guardian

"Loved it. Didn't want it to end!" Julie Porteous, Australia

"These have been a lifesaver for me in lockdown" Penny Owen, Surrey

"Wonderful idea...! More please...!!!" Garry & Heather Goodge, Sleaford

Please note this is NOT a live performance. The postcards will be mailed individually from 25 October2021. UK addresses will receive all six postcards over a period of three weeks. Postcards mailed to overseas addresses may take longer. Booking closes on 18 October.

KEEP THE SECRET: We encourage you to keep and share the cards with friends and neighbours but please don't reveal the story on social media so that more audiences can enjoy the experience at first hand too.

Dare To Look Down! is made possible with generous support from the Peter Sowerby Foundation's Increasing Access Fund.

Target audience age: You should be as tall as six postcards to join this ride!
Interval length: mins

New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.
Our productions are testament to the fact that rural theatre is as relevant, challenging and vital as theatre made for any other environment. Our participatory projects, career defining training and mentoring opportunities for emerging regional talent and rural touring scheme Northants Touring Arts makes tangible difference to people where they live.
